Question from Cas: “Q: I have a Nikon D5000 and I do a variety of shoots from family portraits, to newborns, to weddings, etc. (outdoor and studio) I want a new lens that would be perfect for almost any type of shoot and a new lens that would be perfect for weddings. Any suggestions on one or two lenses I should look into purchasing?”
Sasha: prime. 50mm is a great start. I also would love a 35mm. 🙂
Tim: f shooting a wedding, you can’t cheap out on the lenses. If you can afford the lenses mentioned above, buy some primes. 50 1.8, 85 1.8
Tim: Don’t be afraid to rent gear of you need to
Tarisha: I agree with Tim. I rented a 70-200 and I typically use my 50 1.8, 35 1.8, and 85 1.4
Colleen: I love the 50mm 1.4 for general use (and the 85mm) but I can’t imagine a wedding w/o the 24-70 and 70-200 2.8…to get the in church family shots (24) and the close up alter shots (200)….
Cas: I am not sure if there is a place in my city to rent lenses. I am just getting bored of the ones I have and want a new one 🙂
