Question from Kelli: “Can I ask- Has anyone used both the Canon 5DMK2 and the Nikon D700? I have the MK2 and thinking of switching, but do not want to go down in quality. Thanks!”
Leah: I love my d700 – it’s done wonders for my photography. No clue on Canons cameras.
Karey: have you tried the 5DMK3? I’m in love with it – I never owned the MK2, but I’ve rented it and I feel even the feel of the MK3 is far superior.
Chris: whats your reasons for switching ? what you will lose is about half of your resolution , going from 21 to 12 mp , you will get a more sophisticated auto focus system, and slightly , better iso performance . but in my opinion not enough to justify a switch . the mk 2 is a solid performer , , and so is the d700 . whats the reason for the switch ?
Kelli: I haven’t tried the mk3, it’s been recalled and I don’t even want to bother with it until the kinks are worked out.
I am thinking of the switch because I am tired of focusing issues with canon and I have always heard great things about nikon’s focusing. Also, I like the warm, rich color I’ve seen from Nikon. I would go for the D800, but can’t afford that right now plus replacing lenses.
