Question from Jessica: “What tips and info can you give me for starting my blog/website for my photography work? Any free set up sites?”
Sarah: I have domain through go daddy And connected by blogger blog to it. Very cost effective and works for now.
Kelly: Tumblr has free blogs
Michelle: I use wordpress and it’s free
Teresa: Wix
Loretta: I use wix
Ashley: I have a wix site www.AVinyardImage.com if you would like to check it out! I love the contact form. I did upgrade to a pro account, but if I were you I would make sure your fb page is up to date with work. I have had my site for 10 months and have had 3 people find me from it. I have had 99% of my people reach me through fb. having both doesn’t hurt though!!
Kat: I use weebly and it’s free
April: I use blogger for my blogging and have awesome luck with www.weebly.com for a website. They are free and have some great templates to work from. Plus, anyone can do it successfully. I love that they set it up for easy use.
Jennifer: bigblackbag, so easy to use, I just use a monthly plan of under 20 bucks a month
Lee: My website, to which is not finished and is in the template stage haha www.leekempsphotographicservices.co.uk, I got from www.moonfruit.com .. amazing services hands down! £8 a month includes free domain for two years, free stock photos, unlimited pages and 5 free email addresses. But you can make extra addresses just they forward to a different email. I’m not so sure if they do American rates etc.. or if the cash will become USD once paid. Either way I’ve had no faults. But if not, www.webs.com is a great service if you buy their premium packages as well.
Amy: I use weebly and love it.
Raymond: using Zenfolio
Jenna: Blogger is great for starting out. Free. No ads. I still use it and have tweaked my own template quite a bit.
Jen: I use wix for my website and blogger for my blog
Kelli: I pay monthly with Wix but they also have a free version. I use Wix’s HTML5 Tumblr plugin for my blog.
DeeDee: I use Smug Mug. Portraits are protected, clients order directly from the site and photos are shipped directly to client, you have full control over your site, reasonable price
Lindsay: 500px is great for photo blogs and websites. I haven’t set up the blog part yet but you can see the format here. Free accounts and paid accounts – set up a google alert for coupons – they have them once a month
