Question from 4 the Luv of Pix: “Watermark/copyright. When are they acceptable? When are they not? Do you charge extra for a disc of pics without copyright or watermark? If so what is a suitable price? If they aren’t marked images how do you keep your unsigned work off facebook or altered etc?”

Kara: All my images have my logo hidden in the image somewhere.

Sarah:  I provide my clients with 2 copies of each of their photos on a disk. One are my “internet ready” files which have been re-sized and watermarked, the other “print ready” files which are full size and not watermarked. My disks come with a disclosure that the “print ready” files are not to be used on the internet. So far no issues from my end.

Nicole:  ^ I like your advice Sarah! I think I’m going to do that 🙂

Colin: I made a brush in Photoshop it says my business name, every single image/print is then stamped with it, if it’s an album only one image will have the stamp on it, my business name is my label when you but cloths etc they have labels on.

Caroline: how do you apply a hidden logo to the images?

Morgan: When a client buys a CD I give them a folder for printing and a folder for online. The online ones have my watermark on them. I explain why I have the watermark on them ahead of time, and I have never had any problems!!\
