Question: I am shooting a wedding in March inside a chruch, and want to know what lens you use to get the most available light, and distance. I am used to shooting outside weddings….only did one chuch one…so I want these to come out perfect.
Katrina: I use a 70-200 2.8 and a 50 1.8, both on a tripod, shooting wide open
Kirsty: I’m a prime girl, fast lens and move your feet 🙂
Summer: I used my 35mm and the pictures were great, I just struggled with getting the correct white balance.
Shelia: I agree with the 70-200 teamed with a D700, and you can shoot in any light.
Mariann: Also a 24-70 for table settings, flowers, cards etc.
Arnaud: definitely the 70-200 2.8 and a prime, typically 50 1.4 or 1.2 would be good. 🙂 just keep them wide open. and move around.
Colleen: 24–70 2.8 for family shots (especially if you have pews in the shot), 70-200 for the intimate close-ups during the service, and the 50 (or 85) 1.4 when you need the most light possible (or you can’t use any flash ever)….
Patricia: Thanks everyone! I will be looking into the 70-200. Ill be renting it for the wedding. And I already have a 50, and so doesn’t my hubby who shoots with me.
