Question from Tracy: “What grants are available for photographers and how to go about applying for them?”
Michelle: Great question I have been trying to find out myself.
Marcy: I would like to know also
Brandi: Me too
Amanda: ME too
Kerry: Never even thought of that.
Lindsay: Me too
E Shay: What grants? For gear? Business expenses? There are some grants for women-owned or minority-owned businesses in my state, but there are strict guidelines etc. Check out some Small Business Development agencies in your county. No clue about photographer-specific grants. If someone wants to buy me some gear, I will let them!!! lol
Justin: I read somewhere about a grant for for photographers. The application was displaying a portfolio of the topic you were covering and providing cost reports and a budget to continue. It’s journalism oriented. I don’t imagine there’s grants for non journalistic photography. People usually don’t give money to you to photograph someone else’s children or a wedding. You could always do a kick starter if you have a particular project you are looking to fund.
Tami: What about a small business grant
