Question from Cate: “I would LOVE to get some guidance on how people price Senior Portraits packages. The more detail/examples the better — I am at a complete stand still on this one!”
Jess: wow details would take me a long time, but I have 3 tiers, I offer 1 hour 2 hour and 3 hour session times, unlimited clothing on all and locations.. but they have to remember that driving counts towards their time. The further up you go in price you also add in print credits with me. I also offer a la carte items to add in like time, or discounted print credits, hair and makeup option for the girls… special shooting places/props like fancy car… all of it I make the packages simple and from there they customize to their liking. I am interested to hear what others do 🙂
Amanda: I have a 3 hour session only with unlimited outfits & locations- however much we can squeeze into the 3 hours. It includes a print credit and an option to buy more prints or a disc. I tried a few shorter sessions but found 3 hours is really the amount of time it takes to get the variety I want.
Alex: I am struggling with pricing because almost all of the other photographers in my area are giving away cds with 15-25 fully edited images for the cost of just the sitting fee (with everything from newborns to seniors). Any ideas to book more seniors and not give my work away on cds?! Right now I offer print credit they can apply towards the purchase of prints or cds but am still getting complaints that cds arent included.
