Question from Melissa: “Question for all you BP4U fans! My husband and I have a disagreement on how to dress for sessions… When I shoot weddings I wear my best, that is given but what do you wear for either indoor/outdoor family/newborn/boudoir shoots etc…”
Dena: I wear jeans & a t-shirt that has my logo on it for typical sessions. & for weddings, I dress nice, but comfy.
Jen: I dress with a nice shirt and jeans for outdoor sessions, if it’s indoor or I’m not as familiar with the client, I will dress nicer.
Christina: i get comfortable for family shoots i feel it makes the family feel more comfortable knowing you are. Jeans and a polo is what i where 90% off the time unless I am at my home studio then its jeans and a t shirt.
Casey: I do only outdoor and I wear jeans and a t-shirt! (and usually boots to help with bugs) 🙂
Morgan: Typically I wear jeans and a nice but comfortable short. For weddings I wear black cotton dress with tights 🙂
John: i dress in jeans for my shoots with my shirt logo on it, i shoot on location all the time
Detta: I wear jeans and I white tshirt. Sometimes the white tshirt gets dirty but it doubles as a reflector. I worry about color casts from other color shirts.
Selena: Wear what you are COMFORTABLE in. If you wear a dress, dress pants or skirt, can you still be as versatile in your shooting as if you were wearing sweats? I always wear a nice loose dress shirt-loose being the key word hear + old dress pants of mine that fit comfortabely no matter how I move; I don’t want tight clothing, however dressy or fancy, restricting me and my clients. If I’m shooting out on a farm or on a day after rainfall, I usually wear plain sweats with a nice top. Sure I don’t look as professional, but at least I’ll look sensible if I have to lay in mud to get that great shoot! 😉
Jeff: I’ll wear similar clothing to what my clients Re wearing. I never wear jeans, I think it is. Very tacky, and will wear a nice dress pant or khaki color pants and shirt with long sleeves, and comfortable fitting shoes, never sneekers. If it is a wedding most definitely a suit or tux.
Amanda: Business casual for all shoots but weddings.
