Question from Christine and Davon: “Can anyone help me on setting up packages and pricing? 8×10,5×7,wallets etc… and how many poses?”
Jael: Depends on your area, my 8×10 is $10
Matt: I don’t do packages for portrait sessions. I charge a flat sitting fee of $35 then sell prints ala cart. Anything smaller than 8×10 is charged the larger dimension. For example 8×10 is $10, 5×7 is $7, etc. Larger prints add the dimensions together (11×14 is $25, 16×20 is $36 etc)
Aaron: Look around to see what others in your area are charging. It’s hard to ask a question like this when we don’t know any of your costs. You have to price it out so that you cover your costs and are able to make a profit that you feel works for the value you place on your product.
Heather: My 8×10 is $15 but I know a lot of people that sell them for more like $30 in my area (Minneapolis). I try to be more affordable than that.
Ryley: Charge $250 and put top images on a flashdrive for them to print. They pay for the rights and I don’t have to be bothered with printing…. love the arrangement much better!
Deirdre: Location, and different packages/set ups that work best for you. Best to check out what is going on in your general area as pricing will vary with everyone here. Excellent question!
Davon: thank you all so much.
