Question from Jenna: “Any Lightroom users out there that have ever had to switch their program from an old computer to a new computer? Is this possible or is the license for one computer only? If so, how do I go about switching the program to a new computer?”

E Shay: You should just be able to install it from the disc. The license is usually either for one computer or three, but as long as you register it in the same name on the new computer as you registered it under in the old computer, you should be fine. 🙂 If LR has a problem with it, they’ll call you and you can tell them you got a new PC. Shouldn’t be a big deal. 🙂

Jess: I switched my photoshop programs over no problem at all just put in the disk and entered the code 🙂

Ray:  The license is for 2 personal computers. If you have “activated” the software on 2 computers you will need to “deactivate” one of the installs before you can install on a 3rd computer. If you are going to stop using your old computer you should deactivate before you uninstall.

Karen: I was wondering the same thing, only for Photoshop Elements. :))

Crysta: Don’t get uninstall and unregister confused! In the mnu, you can choose to deactivate or unregister the program from the computer. I once made the mistake of just uninstalling and thankfully, Adobe allowed me to install on a 3rd, as I gotten rid of the computer I just uninstalled and didn’t unregister the computer. It works the same as Elements Karen. That’s the program I had troubles with.

Cathy: Most of the time you can contact Adobe explain the situation and they will give you a new registration code.

Jenna: Thanks guys!
