Question from Heather: “Anyone know of online classes that teach about aperture,ISO etc.. I dont learn by reading books/manuals. Thanks :)”
Michele: check out Karen Russell’s the photographers workshop
Mollie: Check out your community college! I’m taking a Photography Certificate course at my local cc and it has been the most AMAZING experience! My teacher knows *so* much about the technical, business, and artistic aspects of photography. I’ve been in the game for 2 or 3 years, but my knowledge of this area has grown exponentially in just the first few weeks of this class.
Jessi: CreativeLive
Gail: Improve Photography
Mary: PPSOP has many online courses. Bryan Peterson’s class is amazing!
Michelle: Hi Heather…. try this site>http://www.creativelive.com/live They have tons of courses and you are able to view them for FREE during the LIVE taping, with the option to purchase courses at a reduced price. It’s been a wonderful resource for me, being a visual learner as well and so many topics to learn from. Here’s their FB page as well>http://www.facebook.com/creativelive?filter=1 =)
Susan: www.roushstudios.com . Jeff Roush offers online courses at your own pace. I am taking the course right now. He will evlauate your emailed photos and is available for any questions. He has a facebook too.
Heather: thank you guys! ♥ I really appreciate you taking the time to answer!!
Justina: Pretty sure she is having a sake right now too!http://rachelbrenke.com/blog/photog-bootcamp-shoot-manual-mode/
Erin: http://www.snapshotsofagoodlife.com/ best online class ever, she will change your photography forever!
Kelly: Creative live is pretty awesome… free classes online http://www.creativelive.com/
Isabel: Just wanted to follow this post 🙂
Christina: Try joining PPA (professional photographers of America). They offer a great deal of info, classes, insurance, discounts and other things. Otherwise try to connect with a photographer to work as a mentor. To be honest if you just get out there and shoot shoot shoot you will learn real fast!
M. Adam Photography: I used NYIP and it was great they have two courses and a photoshop course. it was all on line at my own pace. I did both courses and just finished up the professional course. they have a FB page, New York Institute of Photography. its a certificate course but it taught me so much.
Tanya: Creative live has also helped me a lot, I’m always looking for other resources. Will definitely be checking out these other sites.
Jim: I have a post on POTN with 8-10 videos from Adorama that explains all the basics. Extremely informative & helpful! http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=11665650&postcount=38&fb_source=message
Alicia: Jessica’s auto to manual class at @The Define School… She’s awesome
Krista: Not necessarily about aperture specifically, but: creativelive.com is an outstanding resource. Free webinars about pretty much EVERYTHING photography.
Jana: Free course on two peas in a bucket. Google it – on my phone or I’d link you. Great resource for learning to shoot in manual.
