Question from Cathy: “I have my first maternity shoot next month. Any suggestion or inspirations?”
Anna: l IMO a successful maternity shoot really depends on the comfort level and confidence of the Mama to be. Lots of communication with them and direction for flattering poses. Good Luck!
Tia: Do your research. Look at other photo pages for ideas. Anna’s right–LOADS of communication to see where her comfy level sits. I’ve completed two and loved both of them. They have trusted you because they believe in you!!
Sandy: Only done a few so far but I’m always talking to them and joking around…personally being big and prego can play alot on the self esteem…my goal is to make them feel like a Godess!
Denise: all the above adviceis great. When my Daughter was pregnant, we wanted to capture her pink cheeks, shining eyes and big belly. I was dissappointed with the photog that did them as she just had my daughter pull up her shirt and then pull the top snug. It was so uncomfortable looking. we did not keep the shots
Stephanie: Pinterest for inspiration!!!
Michelle: Hi Cathy… here’s a look at some photos I’d taken as a present for my friend during her pregnancy>http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.375225322526693.76207.262563990459494&type=3 Having her wear something comfortable but tight, will help to show off that beautiful belly and make sure that they are well rested. Hope this helps and have FUN! =)

Andrea: That’s my work from this weekend if it gives you some inspiration. My huge thing is I do makeup too for some clients (maternity or seniors) MY MAIN THING is to make them comfortable and feel beautiful because that’s the ONE thing most don’t feel during pregnancy. Also a suggestion is don’t shoot too late because it gets very irritable and uncomfortable for the mommy to be 🙂
