Question from Tara: “What are your thoughts on accepting friend requests on your personal page of your photography clients?”

Calina: After a shoot, we always get along really well and become friends! I’ve made lots of new friends doing clients pictures, even meeting them for the first time for a shoot.

Heather: This is the only way I can tag people on my photography page in their photos, so I have a special list called “work” that I add all clients and colleagues to. Most of my personal posts are hidden from this list.

Katy:  I like it because they rave & tag me in posts with recommendations! You can set different privacy settings for clients. 🙂

Stephanie: As you can see my last name isn’t actually a real last name but phonetic, so my clients can’t usually find me unless it was pre name change in which I have a select few that I connect with.

Hollie:  I would never do it. I don’t cross professional and personal life boundaries. There’s a reason my photography business has a fan page.

Esta: My life is an open book and I have nothing to hide so, I don’t mind. Plus, many of my clients hire me over and over and start to feel more like family. and there is that added marketing bonus of being able to tag them in images. Lol

Jael:  I made a page under my son’s name and use that to add clients and then be able to tag them

Amanda:  I will add them because I don’t want to seem rude, but like another person said, most of my personal posts are hidden from my clients.

Kori: I think it is a very good thing. Just keep in mind when posting who you do have on your Facebook.

Ashley: I always add clients to my personal page. 1 so that I can tag them on my business page, and 2 so that we start building our relationship!

Crysta: I have been getting MANY lately… I choose to keep the two separate.

Denise:  I prefer it – that way I can tag them whenever I have specials or give them their sneak peek

Krystle:  I have a business profile under Krystal Clear Ans of course my personal one they add me on my photog profile and do everything from that one….I made it before they did messaging on a page it was easier to connect with clients

Chelsi:  I always add them, that way I can tag them in photos so they will see them – especially now that facebook doesn’t show everything in the news feed!

Kristie: Most my clients are friends and family so I already have them as friends on Facebook. My senior photographer added me after the shoot so she could tag me in the pics. I do love seeing other photographers work I also love clients recommendations.

Kimberly:  My clients are friends too!

Christy: Many of my clients become friends. It also allows me to tag them in photos I post to my page

Carolins’ Photography: I have two pages, some of the people cross over from my personal to my professional page. I do try to keep clients to the professional page though.
