Question from Emma: “Just moved to a new state, husbands in the military. Starting a business over is nerve wracking, no matter how established it was before. Would love some creative ideas for a “grand reopening” special. Including giveaways, activities, etc. Sky’s the limit! TIA!”
Jasmine: I would love to know this too!! My husband is military and moving around is hard.. esp with a business where you have to start from scratch with clients
Heather: mini session/photo booth, military/patriotic themed and half the proceeds go to a local charity that helps injured soldiers or something. A free family session to a military family, like one whos dad missed the birth of their baby because he was deployed.
falls coming up so see if there are any fall festivals you can set up a booth at and do a mini fall session. 3 images $10 for web use only, but have other options like printing/buying the rights when they go to your page to view them.
Heather: If you do boudoir photography a special package to send their honey serving oversees, especially if he’ll be gone during the holidays.
Suz: Boudoir or mini sessions for sure,.. Offer per deployment packages homecoming packages etc it typically can help! Do a Facebook giveaway to get ur name started etc
John: thats a good ideal i offer special deals for the wives for boudoir shoots whos husbands for oversees
Emma: I appreciate all the suggestions related to military families. However, I was looking for ideas of how to relaunch/advertise my business in a new area.
Stacey: Many radio stations will let you advertise free if you are offering a free service. Is there a community activity happening close to you? Look into getting a booth, offer a free portrait – have them bring a flash drive so you just download it there. Have photos set up with business cards and pricing sheets. You could even have your own flash drives ready to go with your contact info and pricing info as well as some example shoots to give them Ideas. Load their pic and away they go. I have several friends who use Facebook too, its amazing how fast your name gets around on here!
