Thanks so much for having me back! I’m so excited!
I love to watch my children play and interact. My twins have their own little language, as most twins do, and they still speak to each other that way from time to time. Their world is unlike our grown up world and is full of endless possibilities. Their imagination is ever expanding and magical! With that in mind, things don’t always go as planned. Photographing toddlers is a hard business in and of itself. I like giving little ones a prop, a vintage plane or maybe their own lovey, to play with and distract them for bit. Play time is so much fun and can really help you, the photographer, win their trust. However, their big personalities can sometimes try to take over the shoot. With my two, one twin gets a little too lovely or huggy, one shoves, one is super sensitive…the list can go on for days. When they do start with their typical brother antics, I like to remind them that there is a reward at the end of our fun photo shoot. And, yes, I bribe. Sometimes, I use gummy bears (love them!), but at the farm we throw rocks. My boys love, and I mean LOVE, to throw rocks into the creek. It’s their favorite thing to do at the farm besides playing in the creek when it’s warm enough. Boys and rocks. It works for me 🙂
