My friend, Trisha Wells, owner of Enchantment Princess Parties here in Butte County, contacted me a few days ago, telling me about this sweet little girl, Jaze, who is only 8 and is facing terminal neuroblastoma. As of now, she has only one month left on this earth, and one of her greatest wishes is to see as many princesses as she can. Her health is fading so quickly, and a trip to Disney for her and her family would just be too difficult, so Trish knew what she had to do. A party was organized, and she brought as many of her princesses as possible to give Jaze a special day that she can hold on to for these next few difficult weeks, as well as something that her family can look back on forever and treasure.
We arrived at the party and Trish introduced herself as the one and only Fairy Godmother. She gifted Jaze with a princess dress and crown, and started the introductions of the princesses. There was a line of princesses just waiting to meet Jaze.
Elsa and Anna stopped to talk with Jaze. They let her know that each princess had a special gift to share. They had gotten her a charm bracelet, and each princess had their own charm to give to Jaze. One by one, they stopped to chat, let her open her charm, and Anna tried to keep up and keep stringing them on to the bracelet as quickly as possible.
As Elsa sang her anthem, Anna gave Jaze a princess makeover. Cinderella also chimed in to sing “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes”. I think we all had the same wish in our hearts at that moment.
The princesses stayed to party with Jaze and her family, take picture with all of the children who have been friends with her, and to enjoy a beautiful day with a beautiful little girl.
Jaze has a hard battle ahead. The coming days, weeks and months will be so incredibly difficult for her and her family. Please keep them in your prayers.
Hi! My name is Nicole. I’m a wife, mom, full time nurse and part time photographer. My business, Old Fashioned Dreamer Photography, is still in it’s first year, but it is growing steadily, and I am growing as a photographer right along with it! I love to capture emotions of all kinds. Love, laughter, pain, sadness, and joy. It’s my desire to tell a story through photographs, so that someone can look at a picture that I’ve taken and be able to know at just a glance what the subject was feeling.
