Are you new to the wedding photography world? Networking is essential to growing your company. Not sure how to network or where to start? Don’t worry…We’re here to help! Check out these tips:
1. Introduce yourself to event coordinators in your area.
Let them know what you specialize in and send them a link to your website. See if they want to meet up to see some more of your work and get to know you in person so that they will know which clients will gel with you the most before recommending you. This also gives you a chance to deliver some business cards that they can have to pass out to their clients. Do this before spring comes, because then things will be really hectic for them to schedule a meeting.
2. Ask local companies if you can take photos of their work outside of an actual wedding.
Call different venues and wedding vendors and see if they need updated photos for their websites. This is important if you have not worked with them before because it will allow you the chance to work with them and show off your work. Set up a time to come by and take photos of their work, then send them over some photos for them to place on their site. Make sure all the photos you give them have your logo on them. In the release form, say that the company can use your photos as long as that logo is not removed.
Remember: These are the companies that are giving brides vendor packets. See if they will also take some of your business cards to pass out to their clients.
3. Go to bridal shows and introduce yourself in person.
Bridal shows are a great way to find wedding vendors. This is where everyone gathers all in one place…it is the perfect way for you to network with a ton of companies. Take some of your business cards and go to the different booths, introduce yourself, and leave some with each vendor you meet.
