Are social media sites not getting you the results you want for your business? It’s time to think outside the box and start marketing in print! Think about how photographers used to market before marketing on the internet became cool. Pass out your business cards and network with local businesses to help spread the word about your company. It seems simple, because it is. This has proven to work for years and years, and it still works!
We’ve come up with the top 15 places you should go to market your newborn photography business. These are the places where expecting and new moms will be going and are most likely to see your advertisement.
- Doctors’ Offices
- Hospital Welcome Information Packets
- Hospital Gift Shops or Specialty Gift Shops
- Furniture Stores that carry baby cribs/baby room furnishings
- Maternity Clothing Boutiques
- Children’s Boutiques
- Children Hair Salons
- Ultrasound Locations
- Gyms that host Pregnancy Yoga Classes or Baby & Me Exercise Classes
- Local “Mom Groups”
- Venues that host baby showers
- Event coordinators that plan baby showers
- Massage parlors offering pre-natal massages
- Bakeries/Cake Shops that have specialty baby shower products
- Daycares and Local Babysitters/Nanny Services
Now that you have your list, it’s time to start marketing!
Tip: While you’re going around to these businesses, offer to take free head shots for the company in exchange for advertising. Ask them if they will answer 5 questions during the session. Then write a feature blog post on that company/doctor/group and link it to their site. This will build a relationship with that company and keep your name on their radar.
We’ve mentioned this tip before, but the same principle applies to newborn photography. You can also ask to leave post cards or a raffle bowl at the front desk or checkout of the business to help draw in more clients.
