Question from Robin: “Does anyone have any suggestions for posing small children with an early 20’s big brother so it doesn’t look like they are his kids?”

Sadie: Tough one! I would say have him standing and sitting with them, but not holding them if possible…the holding would probably make it look more like they’re his. That’s all I can think of, I hope you get more/better ideas, though.

Andrea: Have the 20 year old dress young and the young dress more mature…? That could help bring them closer in appearance as brothers

Amber: Get a chalk board and write “brothers” then stick it in the picture

Jessica: Piggy back rides..

Jessica:  Playing Leap frog…things of that nature

Christy: I would think to do some not so serious posing. even the classic jumping photo would be cute

Lesley: They could each hold a small chalkboard with the number of birth order….the 20’s guy would be 1, then 2 and so on

Heather:  Hi-fiving. Doing anything fun and childish would help!

Rejane: Have big brother and little brother shirts on

Shari:  for not so serious photos, make funny faces at each other cause u KNOW siblings do that! But I def like the ideas of the dressing younger and the little ones dress older.. maybe like a lil kid’s suit for the littlest one and then a superman shirt or something like it on the 20 year old?

Aimee:  If you are indoor you could also using a growing chart/ruler marked with kid-like handwriting.

Heather: big brother on the ground. younger kids climbing on him or sitting on his back….stacked up in birth order. my kids did this during our family photoshoot last year…spontaneously. my favorite!!!

Christy: Making faces, him tickling them, sticking tongues out at each other. If he is strong and them small making muscles and “lifting” up each one on an arm. Simple close up of faces.

Cecy: How small is the children and are they boys or girl and boy. If they are boys and not to far apart I would sit them and have them back to back.

Robin: The 23 yr old is a male, 4 yr old girl and 17 mth old boy.

Robin:  Thank you all for the wonderful ideas! I really love this site
