Question from Kayla: “My question is when I shoot full lengths, or groups I seem to get more noise in the photo and the eyes aren’t as crisp. How can I reduce this? “

Amanda: Toggle through your focal points manually & align a selected point on subject’s eyes/face depending on your distance in full length shots. Lower ISO will decrease noise.

Laura: Also use an aperture close to as many people you have in the photo and focus on the person most in the foreground.

Carrie:  I think automatically the photo will be more soft when you are using a wider angle and shooting more than one person, than an up close portrait. Check your ISO regarding the noise, a lower one will show less noise. :0)

Lissa:  I have the same issue as Kayla. I make sure I pick a specific focus point and focus (back button) on the eyes. I also make sure I have the appropriate aperture for the number of people in the photo and I try to get their faces on the same plane. My ISO also rarely goes over 400. With doing all this, I get images that aren’t as crisp as they would be if it was a close up. Not a huge issue for me…but I’m picky and sometimes it’s frustrating

Michelle: Use manual settings. Start at f4 and work your way up until everyone is in focus. Zoom in on each pic on your camera as you go.
