Question from Brandy: “I have a Nikon 5100. I am considering upgrading to the d600.. Will the lenses I currently own work with the d600? Any suggestions on upgrading?”
Ashley: Following- I too have a D5100, I am very happy with it, but there will come a time when I need more
Brian: If your lenses say ‘DX’ on them; they will work; however it will basically make your D600 FX full frame body work as a DX body. It will crop the images.
Bekah: Following – I have the D5100 and love it, but am concerned that it’s not weather sealed (live in Seattle area, lots of bad weather!). Also been looking into the D600.
Bob: I just upgraded from the D5000 to the D600 and I’m so thankful that I did. It’s amazing. Brian is correct here. They will physically work but it’s not ideal. I also purchased the 24-70 f/2.8 and 70-200 f2.8. Combining all the upgrades has made a magnificent change. I passed my lenses on to my wife, who still uses a D5000, so it was an upgrade for her too!
