Question from Beth: “Putting together my website and not sure if I want to go with SmugMug Pro or Bluedomain….which do you prefer and why? I would like to be able to offer my clients the ability to order their pictures online. Also need to know who you have used for marketing/branding of logos. I need some watermarks, some webpage headers, etc. ideas appreciated!”
Jessica: I use photobiz and love them
Crystal: I did my own logo/branding
Leslie: Need to follow!
Hollie: I’ve never heard of bluedomain. I use zenfolio. I’d recommend using your own branding/logos.
Lynn: I love Smugmug, they are very helpful, and efficient. I do my own branding.
Amanda: You should be doing in person ordering consultations and not online ordering. My sales tripled when made the switch. People buy on impulse and emotion. Dont give them the chance to walk away and think about it!
Madison: I use ProPhotoBlog and love it. Lots of templates to choose from or buy and it’s very user friendly. They offer (well they have in the past) a discount on bludomain. Check out On The Spot Studio for branding! Love her work.
Deborah: same here
Susan: I like Bludomain because I feel like I am in total control of everything. There are so many templates to choose from! I have the web organized my way. I handle the orders my way. I choose my developer. I have my music uploaded. It’s all me! Kinda’ been thinking about doing logos too.
Lindsey: I’ve had a bluedomain site for 2 years and I really like it. It’s really easy to use and I haven’t ever had problems. My only complaint is with the design I chose my logo wont fit on the header. But it still looks great
Alicia: I’ve used bludomain for 3 years and LOVE them!!
Stephanie: I use creative motion design..love them!
Kat: I love weebly, but my clients can’t view a private gallery and can’t order from my site…. It is free though and the offer a pro version which may allow those features.
Amy: Love smugmug!!
Janel: I use bludomain & like it. It’s a fair price & has the features you are looking for. I like that its a .com address too. I find I get more traffic through my fb page though! I found my logo on etsy.com which was custom made & she will not make again. Her shop is Morningstar artistry.
Megan: Creative Motion Design
Lesa: I use smugmug pro and love it! www.picsbylesa.com
Melanie: Zenfolio
Kendra: Photobiz is great too.
Carrie: For those of you who use bluedomain, who did you buy your template from? There are just a million choices and I am overhwelmed…………. ;0(
Shay: I use SmugMug, but the price is increasing. What does everyone pay a year to have their website?
Danyelle: following…
Elizabeth: I’ve switched from Bludomain to Photobiz… would not suggest or recommend Bludomain at all! I have had so many problems with them!
Casey: I wouldn’t use either. I would do blogspot (free!) or wordpress (free with limited themes, but looks more professional) with a custom domain and instaproofs for client photos (no monthly fee!)
Christina: I use photobiz for my website and zenfolio for my photos and store. It is great and easy for clients to order.
Emily: Subscribing!!
