Question from Kimberly: “I recently did a wedding for a coworker kids about 1 month ago. It was my frist and well, I am just a family portrait photographer. I am still editing as I can because I have a full time job and 2 kids. She no longer works with me but texts me 4-5 times a week asking for them and just says to give her the cd. A. She/they never signed my contract B. I”m not done. I’ve repeatedly said I am working them as quickly as I can. I took over 800 shots. Now, she has requested me to “quit editing and give the cd”… What would you do?”

Kelly:  Even full time photographers usually take a few weeks to deliver wedding photos. Send her a couple of your favorites that are finished through email and then tell her you’ll get the whole CD as soon as you can. That you want to edit them because they are her wedding photos and they should be perfect.

Carolins’ Photography: I am in the same boat I work a full time job as well as my photography. I have had brides pressure for pictures. I clearly state in my contract and remind them when I leave the reception. It will be 6-8 weeks before they receive their DVD. Do NOT cave into this person, your name is attached to that work.
