You can really feel the love and pre-wedding anticipation at an engagement session! To help you capture that love in the air, BP4U’s Engagement Posing Guide teaches you a variety of sitting and standing poses for your soon-to-be-wedded couple. The guide also covers topics such as location shooting, props, FAQs and more.
How to Pose Criss-Cross Style
The criss-cross sitting pose provides a surprising amount of versatility. You can get close up shots, distance shots, shots from above or behind. Sitting criss-cross style also makes the couple look more casual and relaxed.
To recreate the shot above, have the couple sit down cross legged and face each other. You can have them lean in for a kiss, have her rest her had on his shoulder or have the couple nuzzle cheeks.
You can also try this sitting style with them sitting side-by-side or one in front of the other. Don’t be afraid to get creative!
Tips to Help Your Engagement Session Run Smoothly
- Ask the couple how comfortable they are with public displays of affection (PDA). For example, you’ll want to know if they feel uncomfortable kissing for the camera. If they do, steer clear of those poses.
- Get to know the couple by asking questions and even by talking about some of your interests. The more comfortable you are with each other, the more smoothly your engagement session will go.
- Make sure you have fun! Don’t be afraid to be goofy or bring out the couple’s silly side. Those moments make for some really wonderful captures.
