Question from Renee and John: “Question: Looking to upgrade my Canon 60D. Your thoughts on the Canon 5Dmark2 or the new Canon 6D to be released in Dec?????”

David: 5d2

Renee: Why the 5dmark2 over the new 6D??

Esta:  6d has much better iso and the newest processor. I saw 6d all the way. They are both full frame, etc. I’d spend the extra money for the 6.

Shanyn: Spend the money and get the mkiii

Tom:  if you’re not able to afford the Mk III, the 6D might be a better option simply because the AF system will be better than the Mk II and undoubtedly the ISO performance will be better simply because it’s newer technology — but that latter part is strictly an opinion.

Jaye: Why are you wanting to upgrade? What is limiting you on the 60D that you feel you need a different camera? That will help make a recommendation as to an upgrade. If you are upgrading just to upgrade but don’t really feel you need to, don’t. Invest in some nice glass or just save your money instead.

Renee:  I have 3 L series lenses ( so i don’t need more glass) but I want a full frame camera….mainly for landscaping & Northern Lights etc…

Stephanie:  I have the 5D and I love it!!! best thing to do is take a good long look at the spec sheets on the 2 cameras and the price and compare you are the best judge of what you need in a camera

Jaye: The 5DII for sure then. But I’d still wait until December because we’re all hoping the release of the 6D drops the 5DII down a bit in price.

Renee:  Thank you everyone for your input. It’s such a hard decision and I want to make sure i get the right camera….
