Question from Sarah: “For those that post a “sneak peek” on FB or Blog… how long does it take you to post after the shoot? Also how long does it take you to complete your clients CD for pick up after the shoot. (I do not print photos I just sell my package with a disk”
Kelly: I try to post sneak peeks (1-3) on Facebook within 24 hours. I usually have photo sessions edited within 2 weeks and weddings within 4 weeks. Usually thought they are done much faster. I do my “full” sneak peeks (anywhere from 5-20 images depending on how many I really love) on my blog within a week of their session. I quit putting as many on Facebook because I wanted to get folks utilizing my blog more and FB less.
Jenn: I put my sneaks up the night of (10-20 images), and return for DVD’s varies on what type of session it is
Betsy: I try to post a sneak peek within a day or two. My usual turnaround is 2 weeks, or 4 weeks for a wedding
Brian: I find that if I wait or procrastinate on editing; it just never gets done. So first free moment I get after the shoot I sit down and edit.
Michelle: I usually try to get a sneak peak posted within a couple of days from the shoot. It helps the clients get excited about their photos, and also buys me more time to finish them and get the CD to them, which usually takes me 1-2 weeks depending on the extent of editing.
Morgan: I try to post a sneak peek within 2 hours and then have their gallery ready within one week. However, I do not promise a sneak peek and I tell them up to three weeks for their gallery 😉 Hope this helps!
Allyson: I try to post sneak within 24 hrs. And I try to get their edits done in 7-10 days.
Jennifer: I do sneak peeks within hours and I do the full session on Facebook within a day and the CD is mailed out next day
Mandy: I work and do this on the side. Last week i had 6 sessions so if i shoot that day I don’t edit. So I tell them all 4-6 week turnaround. But I post a sneak peak the night of or following day.
Debra: I do it within a few hours! Post session on gallery within 2 weeks & client has 10-15 to order
Jess: I do a sneak peak that night/ or next day depending how many sessions I had turnaround time depends on how many sessions 1 session will take me about 2 days… my time i tell clients is 2 weeks, but I almost always beat that unless i need to do a lot of skin retouching.
Amanda: I post 2-5 from the session, usually within 24-48 hours, depending on my workload at the current time. I NEVER post the very best, because I save those for my in-person print consultations. People usually buy based on emotion, so I save the best for the consult for this very reason.
Jennifer: Also usually 2-5 sneaks right away and I tell them 2-3 weeks for the disc but aim for 1-2
Heather: Regular shoots I post the same day or next day at the latest (1-5 pictures depending how busy I am). I then take about 2 weeks for family/couples photos and about 4-5 weeks for weddings. Also depending how busy I am.
Cortney: Sneak peeks within 24 hrs, have all the photos edited within 2 weeks for regular sessions… 8 weeks max for weddings.
