Question from Jen: “So I bought a new monitor and it’s really hard adjusting to it from the one I had- the colors don’t look the same and while the images look clearer it’s getting a little frustrating to get used to it- yes it is calibrated.. Anyone else had this problem? I’m almost tempted to go back to my old one and would if it didn’t have image burn on it.”

Phyllis: It seems you are seeing the image proper and can’t get use to it.

Brian: Color Calibrate it.

Jen:  Brian it is calibrated- I think it’s more that this monitor has a “glossy” look to the screen ( if that makes sense) and my other one was more matte – any way to change that? Other then buying yet another monitor

Erin:  It took me about 3 months to get used to the display differences on my new monitor. My images were fine, but it just looked off to me. Hopefully it’s just an adjustment period for you.

Bridget: If you’re getting a lot of glare, try to be careful where you have it set up and make sure you’re not getting a lot of reflections, maybe dim the lighting in that room. Get some test prints made from a pro printer and check your monitor against those

Brian:  Lets eliminate the variable of glare… Turn off all lights, and try to cover all the windows the best you can… Essentially making the room as dark as you can.

Jen:  It looks worse in the dark – It looks glossier- I know that sounds funny- Im just annoyed that it doesnt look like the other one that I had and its makeing edits a little harder to do – It may honestly just be the type of monitor – I may end up buying a new one because I cant stand the way it looks.

Brittany: The “glossy” look may be that your new monitor is “brighter”? Try adjusting how bright the display is.

Jan:  Jen if you not 100%happy with it take it back and try some thing else.you know you not happy with it so you don’t need us to convince you.been in your shoes before. cheers
