Question from Juan: “I’m thinking about buying new lenses… Which of these you recommend from 50mm — f/1.2 , f/1.4 , f/1.8”
Monica: f/1.2!
Jess: 1.2
Tracy: f/1.2
Morgan: 1.4 or 1.8….think about the necessity of the 1.2. Will you really shoot THAT wide open often? Not when you are shooting people you wont!
Angela: 1.4
Sarah: I have 50mm 1.8. LOVE this lens, I use it all the time.
Corinne: I love my my 1.8 for the price! Great quality for half the price!
Heather: I have 1.4 which I love. Should have purchased the higher model though. My camera makes it look tiny.
Cara: The 1.4 really is THAT much better than the 1.8. And I’ve heard that the 1.2 really is THAT much better than the 1.4. (after using the 1.4, I wish I didn’t waste money on the 1.
Simone: If you have the budget for the 1.2 get that. Otherwise the 1.4 is awesome!
Juan: Thanks!
Mandy: Whatever your budget can handle. My 50mm stats on my camera. I had a 1.8 and loved it. I def got my money’s worth. Just upgraded to a 1.2 and LOVE it. You can’t go wrong with any of the three for that gorgeous background blur.
Kimberly: Love my 1.4!! Great lens!
Jennie: I have the 50mm 1.8
Christina: Personal experience: I have a 1.8…hated it! I got the 1.4 LOVE it! It could be that I just got the crappy 1.8 out of the bunch. I’m glad I didn’t give up on it and tried the 1.4
Jennifer: I have & love the 1.8 but also really want to try the others
Colleen: i have the Nikon 1.4 and love it. lenses are not usually sharpest all the way open…but rather, 1 or 2 stops up….so the 1.4 lets me shoot super sharp at 2…and when I’m in low light situations, the 1.4 saves me, too!
Dannielle: I have owned all three lenses, if you have the money the 1.2 is sweet and on my 5dmkII, I could most definitely see the difference. But all 3 are great lenses that never left me disappointed.
Tami: Hands down 1.4 if you can afford it. I like to shoot wide open for the bokeh. I use 85mm 1.8 and it works fabulously the way I want it to.
