Question from Kala: “”I am fairly new to the photography scene. I come from a creative background, but now going to experience it from the other side of the camera. I have been asked to get a range of lenses, or 2 quality zooms covering wide angle (24mm) to telephoto (200mm). I am wondering out of those two options, what would I be better off purchasing, a range of lenses or the 2 zooms? And if I do go zooms, what ones should I get? thanks! (P.s. I take my hat off to photographers, its a lot of hard work when you know the behind the scenes stuff!)””
Steve: well, you could get a range of prime lenses, which, while offering you very sharp images, they are quiet expensive, and also means a lot of weight to carry around,I choose to use just 2 zooms,18-70 and 70-300,which both have macro facility and covers most areas in photography. Both are made by Tamron and are reasonably priced.
Tracy: i personally am quite new to the fun, i use a 50mm with an app of 1.8+ and i have a 50mm-300mm which i get on ok with but i am saving for 24mm-50mm if thats any help.
Janie: I like the 24-105 and the 70-200.
Cakir: You could get 18-55mm lens and 55-250mm lens which both are made by canon and its not that expensive, both lens won’t cost more then £320.
Sarah: I use my 18-200 a lot but love my little 50mm 1.8. Have fun.
Brian: What kind of camera are you using? Are you using a Crop body (APS-C) or a Full Frame body?
Keep in mind that if you are using a crop body you will need to multiple every focal length by 1.5 (Nikon) or 1.6 (Canon).
If is also helpful to know for us to properly recommend you lenses, if you supply us your budget.
Nicole: I would like tio know to i used a canon 60d and want to know best lense. ive been told a 24-70mm with 2.8 but its priced at $2000
