Question: from Morgan: “Hi, i was wondering if I could ask an early wedding question? I have a wedding this weekend. I have a 50mm and for bigger weddings I order the 70-200 zoom lens. However for this wedding I was looking for a wider angle…what do you suggest?”
Erin: recommend the 24-70mm. I love how versatile it is
Stephanie: That 24-70 is definitely a beautiful lens.
Christie: Canon or Nikon?
Nabila: from a nikon shooter: nikon 24-70 is the best lens for wedding work, nice wide lens, real sharp, and versatile too!
Morgan: Nikon! Ok, great!! Thanks!!
Colleen: yep…24-70….can’t do a large wedding party or big family photo session in the church without one!
Brian: Are you APS-C or FF?
Morgan: What Brian??
Morgan: Where do you guys rent from? I usually rent from rent glass, but they don’t have it. Then I like borrow lens, but they are a little more expensive…anyone have other suggestions?
Amber: Brian means do you have a cropped or full frame camera.
Morgan: Oh ok!! Thanks!! Crop :/
Melanie: Morgan, Brian wants to know if you’re shooting on a full-frame body or cropped sensor. I rent from Cameralensrentals.com. Great service. I would suggest the 85mm f/1.2. It’s a killer lens.
Morgan: Thanks!!
Jaye: Let me make sure I understand this right… you have a 50mm and want to rent a wider angle for a wedding along with the 70-200 or instead of the 70-200? If you are renting with the 70-200 then either a 16-35mm or a 24-70. But since you already have a 50 I’d lean more toward the 16-35. If you are only renting one lens then get the 24-70 but you will probably find the 24-70 range to be very limiting on a crop and won’t have sufficient enough back-up.
Jaye: Oh wait, I just saw that you shoot Nikon. I gave you Canon recs though I’m sure Nikon has comparable lenses.
Morgan: I’m going to go with the 24_70 on a crop. And my 50mm. This is a smaller wedding so this should be fine! I hope 🙂
Andrea: 24-70
Kim: Ive rented from Borrowlenses.com in the past, my local camera store requires the full deposit amount which can be thousands but borrowlenses.com doesnt require that
Matt: 24-70mm f/2.8 is definately the way to go
Andrew: 17-40 mm
