Oh hello! I’m Elicia Cook Lunsford, photographer of anything that intrigues me. Though my formal training was in design, I quickly stepped behind a camera after seeing so much beauty in God’s creation and how the light transforms everything. After spending some time interning, and designing with Chicago area photographers, I pushed myself to create a business of my own specializing in children, family, senior, and engagement photography, thus came The Whimsy Tree located in Northwest Indiana. I’m an introvert, so I love behind the scenes work, creating details, sewing baby dresses, making tiny floral crowns from whatever I find in the woods, and then editing, retouching after a shoot is complete. I can be quite acrobatic during shoots, so you may find me climbing up trees, or crawling in the grass on belly just to get that shot, and then picking off briers, or treating poison ivy after it’s all said and done. I’ve recently started remodeling a 1910 farmhouse with my husband, and two little dogs, and we are so very excited to see what this next year is going to bring for The Whimsy Tree.
